6th Annual Party 4 Life Raises Funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research

By June 19, 2013 No Comments

Kunkletown, Penn. – June 11, 2013 – The 6th Annual Party 4 Life fundraising event for metastatic breast cancer research will take place July 27, 2013 in Kunkletown, Penn., benefitting The Lucy Fund, an official donor-designated fund of the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

The fund is named for Lucy Elicker Stanovick, an East Stroudsburg resident who was diagnosed in 2008 at age 42 with stage IV breast cancer. Rather than simply accepting her fate, she took a stand and raised more than $200,000 towards the goal of making metastatic breast cancer a chronic, rather than deadly, disease.

“This year’s Party 4 Life will be particularly difficult, as Lucy passed away in August of 2012, but we are honored to carry the torch in her memory and continue the fight against metastatic breast cancer,” said Mike Elicker, Lucy’s son and co-organizer of the event. “Lucy was an inspiration to so many, and this event will be even more special as the community comes together to carry on her legacy.”

The theme for the 2013 Party 4 Life is “By the Next Generation, for the Next Generation,” highlighting the desire of Lucy’s own children as well as her supporters to continue her mission for the next generation of cancer patients.

This year’s event will include food, games, dancing, karaoke and more, and will take place at Jaycee Fields in Kunkletown, Penn. from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children aged 10 and under.
