
A serial entrepreneur, Silas Deane founded Deane, Smith and Partners in 1999 and currently serves as Chairman and CEO. Silas has developed strategic marketing platforms for major companies including Columbia/HCA, the National Foundation for Cancer Research, Renal Advantage, Pivot Healthcare, Healthcare Management Systems, the John Templeton Foundation and many, many more.
Prior to Deane, Smith and Partners, Silas served as press secretary and legislative advisor to U.S. Rep. Bob Clement and managed the political operations for then-Sen. Al Gore, Jr. He was also the Advance Team Director for the 200th Anniversary of the U.S. Bill of Rights, 200th Anniversary. Silas was one of the original .COM entrepreneurs after serving as the Executive Director for the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society and working as the Executive Editor for Advancing Microelectronics magazine.
He holds a Masters of Government and Business Administration (MGA) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors degree in economics from the University of Kentucky. He attended The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Silas has been named one of Tennessee’s Top Entrepreneurs multiple times.
