A Washington, D.C. native, Carter has more than 15 years of industry experience in marketing and public relations. Before joining Deane | Smith, she was a marketing manager for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Carter also worked as a features assistant editor at Southern Living magazine. She earned a masters degree in communications management and a bachelors degree in communications studies (journalism) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
