Waggoner Engineers Earn PE Credentials

Hernando, Miss. – June 10, 2014 – Waggoner Engineering is pleased to announce Tom Flanagan and Ross Horton have become licensed professional engineers (PE). Flanagan received his license in the state of Alabama, and Horton received his license in the state of Mississippi.

Flanagan joined Waggoner in 2008 and serves as a project engineer and surveyor in the company’s Hernando, Miss. office. He has more than 25 years of experience in surveying, road design, site development, planning, and design of drainage and wastewater collection systems and GIS applications. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Memphis and his license as a professional land surveyor in the state of Mississippi.

Horton joined Waggoner’s Hernando, Miss. office in 2013 as an engineering intern and now works as a project engineer. He has worked on projects including DeSoto County Regional Utility Authority (DCRUA) grounds maintenance, DCRUA biosolids removal, Johnson Creek interceptor access road rehabilitation, Short Fork Waste Water Treatment Facility access road rehabilitation, the Nesbit Road bridge and the Walls Lagoon clean closure. He holds a degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.

“Tom and Ross are outstanding members of our team, and we are proud of their distinguished accomplishment of becoming licensed professional engineers,” said Joe Waggoner, PE, PLS, founder of Waggoner Engineering.

The designation of PE is bestowed by the state boards of licensure for professional engineers and surveyors and requires a four-?year college degree, work under another PE for at least four years, and two intensive competency exams.
