Tickets for Senior Days on the General Jackson more than half off

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 12, 2016 – The Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee will host its 21st Annual Senior Days on the General Jackson Showboat May 9-11. Tickets are limited and available at a $28 discounted price – which is more than half off the event’s $65 value.

This outing, in honor of Older Americans Month in May, involves a two-and-a-half hour voyage on the Cumberland River aboard the General Jackson Showboat. The event includes a full lunch, live entertainment and door prizes.

“Staying active is such an important quality of life factor as we mature,” said Grace Smith, executive director of the Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee. “During the month of May, we focus on older Americans, and their evolving needs, and what better way to celebrate than an entertaining outing on the beautiful Cumberland River? What makes it even better is the affordable price we can offer, thanks to our generous sponsors.”

With a captive audience of 650 older adults on board each day, this is a great opportunity for sponsoring organizations to share services, ideas and innovations for older adults who frequent senior centers and dining programs. Visibility and branding opportunities include a booth on the pavilion and podium recognition with brief remarks.

Since 1995 the Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee, Senior Dining Programs of Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency and the senior centers of the Greater Nashville Regional Council have hosted Senior Days on the General Jackson.
